Perotti Vineyard. We have sourced our Zinfandel from Ed and Bruce Perotti (father and son) since 1997. The land has been in family for over 90 years. Ed's grandfather "Mancini" came from Italy and settled into the Northern Sonoma area to raise fruits and grapes, selling them to other Italian immigrants in the North Beach community in San Francisco. Passing from father to son, Ed took over in the mid 1960's and Bruce has taken charge of farming in recent years. The cycle continues.STORE PICK UP ONLY!

Zinfandel enthusiasts covet Old Vine Zinfandels from Old Clones because they are the “Royalty” of the Zinfandel world. This is the origin of the Regio brand, which means Royal in Italian. The name is especially appropriate because this fruit comes from Lodi, the World Capital of Zinfandel where vineyards were first planted in the 1850’s.This fragrant, medium bodied vintage is filled with flavors and aromas of fresh blackberries, currants and raspberries, with tannins that are firm but not distracting. Note: All wines sales must be picked up at the Danville, CA location. Wine cannot be shipped.

This Zinfandel from the Morgan Ranch in Gordon Valley features a wealth of rich black and red fruit aromas in the nose and on the palate. The flavors of blackberry and raspberry are draped in velvety tannins, while excellent acidity supports the voluptuous mouthfeel. The fully-ripened but not overripe expression of the fruit means that matching this delicious wine with a wide variety of food possibilities is a fairly simple exercise, not an exercise in futility as it might be with a more over-the-top rendition. As such, it is a natural with many grilled meats or fowl as well as dishes with a more piquant twist. Its depth of flavor, alcohol, acidity and fine tannic structure will allow for a good 4 to 7 years of cellaring at least, though it will be hard to resist for near term consumption.

Zinfandel is considered America's own great indigenous grape, even though its origins lie on the Adriatic coast. Planted throughout California and the Pacific Northwest, Zinfandel is at its best in warm regions with cooler temperatures during harvest. The wines can range from off-dry Rosés, White Zinfandels, and light bistro styled wines, to big, rich powerful wines - even luscious wines for dessert bottling. The flavors range from plummy to raspberry, although deep blackberry fruit and brambly spice tones are most common.

In Liar's Dice Zinfandel, we've created our most passionate wine--one that's so sweet and juicy, it'll leave you wanting more. Our 2006 is a combination of both Dry Creek and Alexander Valley fruit. The Dry Creek grapes are sourced from Walt Dieden's vineyard and contribute black raspberry and currants. Our grapes from the Alexander Valley were sourced from the 80 year-old vines at Ellis Ranch, the 30 year-old dry farmed vines of Elaine Maria and the Trusendi Ranch. The Alexander Valley fruit imparts rich, fruit flavors of black cherry and blackberry jam. Soft tannins perfectly balance the sweetness of the fruit. We blend 4% Carignan to add balance and structure to this well-rounded Zinfandel. Liar's Dice was made for the backyard barbeque. It sings when paried with lip-smacking baby-back ribs, pulled-pork sandwiches, burgers or anything that combines sweet and spicy flavors. Note: All wines sales must be picked up at the Danville, CA location. Wine cannot be shipped.
